Royal Palace and Prado Museum

ROYAL PALACE, a beautiful exponent of the 18th century and one of the best preserved in Europe, constitutes one of the most beautiful distinction of the royal residence style, the permanence symbol making firm Madrid as the political capital of the Kingdom. In it, the brightest official receptions of the Crown are taking place. Audiences, Gala Dinner, signature of important agreements and the very traditional ceremony of credential letters from Foreign Ambassadors to His Majesty The King.

We'll visit: Principal staircase, rooms of alabarderos, columns, throne, Gasparini, Carlos III, porcelains, Gala dining room , museum of silver, musical instruments, principal courtyard, real chapel and the new four rooms.

PRADO MUSEUM, located in a neoclassic building designed by the architect Juan de Villanueva in 1785 and originally planned as a Museum of natural History. It has been an art museum since 1818 houses the best col-lection in the world of Spanish painting.

We'll visit: The masterpieces by : El Greco, Velázquez and Goya. The Gold Century great artists: Ribera, Zurbarán and Murillo and the italian painting by Tiziano.

At the end of the visit, return to PULLMANTUR TERMINAL, at Oriente Square.

On monday, sunday and closing days of any museum, will be substituted by El Pardo Royal.

TOLEDO

AVILA: Avila of the knights, Avila of the Saints. The city is completely encircled by 11th century walls and more than a city resembles a great castle. Avila has a number of Romanesque Churches, Gothic -Styled Palaces and a fortified Cathedral from 12th century. The city was the birthplace of St. Teresa de Jesus, one of the greatest mystic of Catholic Church. We'll stop at Cerro de Los Cuatro Postes to admire one of the best views of the city. We visit: The Cathedral* and St. Teresa's Convent. Following departure to,

SEGOVIA: It was a very important nucleus military by the Romans times, proved with the magnificent Aqueduct. City chosen for some of the Castilla's Kings as summer residence, preserves one of the most notable medieval entirety of Spain. Time at leisure for Lunch or included at a typical Restaurant.

Lunch: La Granja white beans, Roasted veal, Caramel custard or Fruit
Typical Lunch: Castilian Soup or La Granja white beans or Cold cuts, Roasted Pig, Segovia Charlotte cake, Wine, Mineral water and Coffee.

After Lunch we'll start the city-tour:

We'll visit: The Cathedral* (the last gothic cathedral built in Spain. Its grace and style have won the nickname of "Queen of Cathedrals") and the Alcázar (the most spectacular castle of the country).

EL ESCORIAL - VALLE DE LOS CAIDOS

EL ESCORIAL: Since long time ago considered the eighth Wonder of the World, was conceived by Philip II, as a Monastery and Royal Pantheon, becoming the symbol of the greatness of the Spanish Empire. We’ll visit: Royal Palace, Royal Pantheons, Infantes Pantheons and Chapter house and Basilica.

VALLEY OF THE FALLEN: The impressive memorial was built between 1940 and 1959 to commemorate all victims of Spanish City War, located in a forest valley and extended in 13,6 Kms. (8 miles) and 1.350 meters over sea level, the stone cross of 150 mts. (490 ft) high and rises above a basilica carved 250 mts (820 ft) deep into a rock marking the Basilica, complete the monument, a beautiful countryside of Madrid's Mountains.

We visit: Basilica.

At the end of the tour, we will return to PULLMANTUR TERMINAL at Oriente Square.

ALCALA DE HENARES

ALCALA DE HENARES, located 30 km from Madrid has become a key destination for Cultural Tourism, birthplace of Miguel de Cervantes, was named a Human Heritage Town in December 1998, in recognition of he fact that Alcalá was the first planned university town as such in the world. UNESCO´s declaration not only refers to Alcala´s historical heritage, but also to the city's cultural importance after Cardinal Cisneros founded Complutense University in 1499. In its declaration UNESCO clearly mentions the University and the old part of Alcala de Henares, as an area which began to develop from the Middle Ages and in which Jews, Moslems and Christians lived together peacefully.

We visit: MAGISTRAL-CATHEDRAL, SAN BERNARDO CONVENT, CERVANTES HOUSE-MUSEUM, ANTEZANA HOSPITAL AND CISNEROS UNIVERSITY.

At the end , return to PULLMANTUR TERMINAL, at Oriente Square.
